Munich, 01.03.2024

GÖRG Partnerschaft von Rechtsanwälten mbB, led by Munich partner Dr. Philipp Grzimek, has advised Forum Media Group on the acquisition of 80 percent of the shares in Balingen-based Spitta GmbH. The change of ownership will take place after a successfully complet-ed management buy-out (MBO) on March 1, 2024.

Forum Media Group GmbH (FMG) is a globally operating media company headquartered in Merching, Bavaria. As one of Germany's leading specialist publishers, FMG currently employs over 1,000 people on four continents and generates annual sales of more than 100 million euros. By acquiring a long-term stake in Spitta, the media group is aiming to expand its portfolio in the healthcare sector.

With almost 100 employees and a customer base of around 30,000 satisfied customers, Spitta GmbH is established as one of the leading providers of media, training, software and online solutions in the dental industry. The recent change of shareholders marks a significant milestone in the company's history.

"Spitta GmbH offers first-class specialist information and training opportunities. It therefore fits in perfectly with our portfolio and expands it to include the field of dentistry. We look forward to exploiting synergies and growing together," says Katrin Krauß-Herkert, CFO of the Forum Media Group.

The remaining 20 percent of the shares in Spitta GmbH were acquired by the long-standing managing director Halil Recber via Recber Asset Management GmbH: "With Forum Media Group, we have a strong partner at our side with whom we will continue and further develop Spitta's position in the market in a future-oriented manner. We are looking forward to a long-term cooperation."
