[Cologne/Frankfurt, ] The “Postgalerie Speyer” shopping centre has been sold to the ERWE Real Estate group. Located at the entrance to a pedestrian zone, the Postgalerie is housed in the former main post office building, which is now a protected monument, and is the largest shopping centre in the city of Speyer. Anchor tenants include H&M, Kult, Jack & Jones, Depot and Deichmann. ERWE Real Estate plans to deploy a new concept for the use of space and design measures while at the same time expanding the centre’s total leased floor space to a good 16,000 sq. meters. Planned measures include expansion of foodservice offerings through additional restaurants and cafés.
The transaction was handled by JLL under an asset management agreement. The seller was advised by a GÖRG team headed by Frankfurt partner Oliver C. Nobel and Cologne partner Dr. Markus Heider. The same team has recently advised clients in connection with the acquisition and disposal of retail properties, including, for example, the sale of the FLORA-PARK shopping centre in Magdeburg to Rockspring and the purchase of the GRAVITY portfolio by Castlelake LP.
