GÖRG assists in successful reconciliation of inter-ests and social plan negotiations for Frankfurter Societäts-Druckerei

Frankfurt am Main, 09.08.2023

The Frankfurter Societäts-Druckerei, based in Mörfelden-Walldorf, will close its doors after more than 150 years on 31 December 2024 due to the ongoing consolidation in the printing market. GÖRG partner and employment law expert Dr. Alexander Insam was mandated by the printing company to provide legal support for the reconciliation of interests and social plan negotiations which he has now successfully concluded.

After several months of intensive negotiations, a solution for the approximately 150 employees was agreed in the conciliation committee. A conciliation committee decision was therefore not necessary. A special procedural agreement, which in addition to the company negotiations also brought the parallel collective bargaining with ver.di to an overall result, secured this outcome.

Both sides benefit from this. The employees can plan early for 1 January 2025, already know their severance pay today and have a secure job until the end of 2024. The company and its customers gain production security until the day of closure and legal certainty regarding costs.
