GÖRG advises investor ARDIAN on purchase of EWE shares

Under the lead management of partner Dr. Oliver von Rosenberg, GÖRG Partnerschaft von Rechtsanwälten mbB advised infrastructure investor ARDIAN on the purchase of 26 per cent of the shares in EWE AG. The parties have agreed not to disclose any financial details of the transaction. Completion is subject to the approval of the German Federal Cartel Office and is expected to take place in the first quarter of 2020.

After completion of the transaction, the following companies will hold stakes in EWE AG: EWE-Verband with 74 per cent (59 per cent Weser-Ems-Energiebeteiligungen GmbH, 15 per cent Energieverband Elbe-Weser Beteiligungsholding GmbH) and ARDIAN with 26 per cent.

The partners intend to jointly accelerate EWE's growth and in particular to invest in the strategic areas of renewable energies, telecommunications and networks.
