GÖRG Partnerschaft von Rechtsanwälten mbB, led by partners Dr Philipp Grzimek, LL.M., and Dr Bernhard A. Guthy, LL.M., has advised Summitas Gruppe GmbH on the acquisition of insurance specialist confera. This is the fourth time that a GÖRG team has advised the service partner for insurance brokers on a takeover.
Summitas Group, the joint venture of JDC Group AG, Bain Capital Insurance and Canada Life, acquired confera Group, an insurance broker specialising in employee benefits and pensions, at the end of December 2023.
The Erlangen-based confera Group, managed by Claudia Lörtzer and Uwe Cornelsen, currently has 35 employees and offers a comprehensive portfolio of services. It includes confera GmbH and confera coverage solutions GmbH.
confera GmbH is committed to being a competent partner for all questions relating to company pension schemes (bAV) and health insurance (bKV). It supports medium-sized companies throughout Germany with the introduction, analysis, optimisation and administration of company pension schemes as well as with an expert service in the field of actuarial services. The first step is to offer a wide range of employee benefits. The company is benefiting greatly from developments on the labour market: employers are increasingly being forced to attract employees with additional benefits and make the remuneration structure more attractive.
As a broker, confera coverage solutions GmbH specialises in arranging composite insurance solutions. It benefits from access to private and commercial customers via the pension business.
