Under the lead management of Berlin partner Dr Roland Hoffmann-Theinert, GÖRG advised the sole shareholder and managing director of the Bavarian company iKratos Solar- und Energietechnik GmbH on the acquisition of the investment company AURELIUS Wachstumskapital.
iKratos Solar- und Energietechnik GmbH, based in the Nuremberg metropolitan region, is a well-known provider of photovoltaics, heat pumps, battery storage and renewable energy consulting services with over 12,000 projects in Germany and abroad. In Germany, the company operates primarily in the Bavarian region. The company is a pioneer in the installation of photovoltaics, heat pumps and battery storage systems and their intelligent networking. The company is one of the largest medium-sized installation companies for renewable energies in Germany and, with this business model, has been a driver of the technological transition away from fossil fuelled combustion furnaces towards storable renewable energy for years.
The aim of the partnership with AURELIUS Growth Capital is to build iKratos into a leading energy technology group. It will advise both B2C and B2B customers on how to organise their energy supply sustainably and efficiently. As part of a buy & build strategy, it is planned to acquire further specialised companies for a complementary growth strategy.
AURELIUS Wachstumskapital is an investment company specialising in German-speaking SMEs, focusing on buy-and-build, buyouts and succession solutions. In addition to capital for investments and growth, it supports the management of the portfolio companies with extensive entrepreneurial experience and thus helps to leverage operational potential and realise planned growth.
The sole shareholder of iKratos relied on the legal advice of a GÖRG team led by M&A expert Dr Roland Hoffmann-Theinert for this transaction. The advice also included the pro-rata re-investment in the buyer vehicle.
