By order of the Krefeld Local Court dated 28 November 2024, preliminary insolvency proceedings were ordered over the assets of Big Guys Stuttgart GmbH and Joachim C. Mohlitz was appointed as preliminary insolvency administrator. Business operations were stabilised and continued during the provisional proceedings. As part of the restructuring concept developed, business operations were transferred to Big Guys GmbH with the opening of insolvency proceedings on 1 February 2025. As a result, all jobs could be secured and an economic perspective was created.
Big Guys Stuttgart GmbH has been operating the BigChefs restaurant in the Am Höhenpark shopping centre in Stuttgart since 2023. As a system catering business, the restaurant follows a fixed concept and offers its guests about 245 seats in an indoor area of 187m² and an outdoor area of 200m². The economic difficulties arose in particular due to lower than expected sales in the summer months of 2024 and inadequate implementation of the advertising concept. The successful transfer of the business operations has now created the basis for a sustainable economic future.
‘By making logistical adjustments and implementing a convincing advertising concept, we have succeeded in aligning the company with the requirements of a modern business,’ explained the insolvency administrator. This has enabled Big Guys Stuttgart GmbH to take an important step towards competitiveness.

The location is very attractive for the BigChefs brand in Germany. With a wide range of Turkish dishes as well as international trends, BigChefs continues to see itself as a local hero at the location.’
With regard to two other BigChefs restaurants in Frankfurt and Oberhausen, insolvency administrator Joachim C. Mohlitz points out that these were never part of the insolvency proceedings opened for Big Guys Stuttgart GmbH.
