GÖRG advises partners of OTT specialist TeraVolt on sale to Qvest Group

Munich, 22.09.2023

GÖRG Partnerschaft von Rechtsanwälten mbB, led by Munich partner Dr Philipp Grzimek, advised the partners of TeraVolt GmbH, Oliver Koch and Tobias Fröhlich, on the sale of the company to Qvest Group.

Since the company was founded in 2007 by Oliver Koch and Tobias Fröhlich, TeraVolt has established itself internationally in the field of big-screen applications, connected TV and personalised live sports broadcasting. The leading OTT (over-the-top content) developer and consultant, based in Hamburg, offers customers from the media and entertainment sector and especially from the sports sector applications in the segments of custom development, consulting and project support, testing and operations as well as metadata optimisation. TeraVolt's customers include internationally established media providers such as ARD and ZDF, ProSiebenSat.1, Sky, Deutsche Fußball Liga GmbH (DFL) and Red Bull Media House.

The strategic acquisition of TeraVolt represents a further step for the Qvest Group to expand and strengthen its global group of companies. The addition of the OTT business enables Qvest to provide customers from different industries and sectors worldwide with holistic and even more time-efficient content distribution. The service portfolio will be expanded to include specific solutions for TV, streaming platforms and content providers.

The further development of TeraVolt will be continued by the existing management team Tobias Künkel (CEO), Volker Harbs (CTO) and Oliver Koch (Co-Founder and CCO) and Tobias Fröhlich (Co-Founder and CPO) and expanded globally in cooperation with the Qvest management. In the process, the two original founders are still invested.

A GÖRG team led by Munich partner Dr Philipp Grzimek assisted the partners of TeraVolt in the successful transaction with corporate, IT and tax advice.
