GÖRG advises KATHREIN on the sale of its automotive division

[Cologne, ] GÖRG Partnerschaft von Rechtsanwälten mbB has advised KATHREIN under the lead management of partner Dr. Oliver von Rosenberg and associated partner Dr. Andrea Zimmermann on the sale of the automotive division to the technology company Continental.

The law firm GÖRG was included in the mandate via Ziems & Partner. M&A partner Dr. Oliver von Rosenberg has already worked with Ziems & Partner in his former law firm Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer on various transactions. These included the sale of Ratiopharm and the restructuring of the IVG Group and the Pfleiderer Group.

With more than 1,000 employees at a total of eight locations in Brazil, China, Germany, Mexico, Portugal and the USA, Kathrein Automotive GmbH is a specialist in transmission and reception systems for vehicles. The sale of the Automotive division represents a further milestone in the restructuring and strategic realignment of the KATHREIN Group. The purchase agreement was signed today; completion of the transaction is subject to the approval of the antitrust authorities and is expected to take place in the first quarter of 2019.
