GÖRG wins M&A partner Dr. Christoph Niemeyer for the Cologne office

GÖRG Partnerschaft von Rechtsanwälten mbB wins renowned M&A partner Dr. Christoph Niemeyer (42) who joins GÖRG’s Cologne office from Oppenhoff & Partner effective 1 May 2020.

Dr. Niemeyer has in-depth knowledge and experience in M&A and corporate law. His main focus is on corporate transactions, joint venture projects, post-M&A disputes and restructuring. Furthermore, he is an expert in corporate and capital markets law issues. He also advises banks and insurance companies on regulatory issues, run-off and capital investments. In addition to his expertise in these areas, transactions with a connection to Italy are another focus of Dr. Niemeyer's practice.

Christoph Niemeyer began his legal career in 2008 at Allen & Overy LLP in Düsseldorf. Prior to that he studied at the universities of Bonn, Geneva and Rome. In addition to his professional activities, Dr. Niemeyer is a member of the board of trustees of various non-profit foundations.

The new addition will expand GÖRG's corporate/M&A practice across all locations. Dr. Frank Evers, head of the Corporate/M&A practice, comments: "The addition of Dr. Christoph Niemeyer as a partner in our Cologne office is an enrichment for our entire M&A team. He will further strengthen this core area with his extensive national and international transaction experience. All locations will benefit from his knowledge".

With Dr. Niemeyer joining GÖRG, the firm's Corporate/M&A practice will grow to over 70 lawyers, including 25 partners.
