Dr. Irene Lausen advises public clients as well as national and international companies in the field of public commercial law, in particular public procurement law, and public grants law. Due to her many years of work for public clients in state and local government and her function as a full-time assessor of the Hesse Public Procurement Chamber, Dr Lausen has extensive knowledge of national and EU public procurement law and has in-depth practical experience in the implementation of public procurement procedures.
Dr. Lausen completed her doctorate at the Johannes Gutenberg University, Mainz, under Prof Dr Dreher, LL.M., with a thesis on public procurement law. She has published extensively on public procurement law and is, among other things, co-editor of the handbook ‘Sustainability in Public Procurement Law’ as well as co-author of various standard works on public procurement law, such as the Beck'schen Vergaberechtskommentar published by Burgi/Dreher/Opitz and the juris Praxiskommentar Vergaberecht published by Summa/Schneevogl.
Dr. Lausen also regularly holds seminars on various public procurement and grants law topics, e.g. at Deutsches Vergabenetzwerk (DVNW), Berlin, and Id-Verlags GmbH (IBR), Mannheim.
Career
Dr. Irene Lausen has been Of Counsel at GÖRG Partnerschaft von Rechtsanwälten mbB since 2023.
Previously, she was head of the legal department of a municipality, full-time assessor of the Hessian Public Procurement Chamber and head of the ‘Public Procurement’ department of the Hessian Ministry of Economics. Dr Lausen has been involved in numerous joint projects of the European Union and the Federal Republic of Germany as an expert on public procurement law in EU accession countries.
