GÖRG, with a team led by Berlin partner Dr Martin Nentwig, advised the DAH Group on the acquisition of the biogas plant in Wallhausen. The seller is the WM Agrar corporate group.
The DAH Group, headquartered in Oranienburg, is an integrated agricultural and energy company with approximately 400 employees. It produces gas, electricity, and heat from renewable energy sources, manages over 20,000 hectares of agricultural land, and operates more than 20 biogas plants.
The biogas plant in Wallhausen, Saxony-Anhalt, was previously operated by Agrarprodukte Löbnitz GmbH and is located directly adjacent to a gas pipeline. Approval for the construction of a gas upgrading facility at the site has already been granted. With the newly acquired plant, the DAH Group will be able to produce approximately 40 million kWh of biomethane annually. Following the sale, WM Agrar will remain an important regional partner for the DAH Group, supplying agricultural residues and renewable raw materials.
The acquisition of this plant is part of the DAH Group’s strategy to continue its growth trajectory.
GÖRG’s legal advice covered all aspects of the transaction, from the entire due diligence process to negotiating and finalising the purchase agreement.
