GÖRG provided legal advice to the shareholders of BioEcho Life Sciences GmbH on the sale of all shares to the US company Admera Health LLC. under the leadership of Hamburg partner Prof Dr Stephan R. Göthel. The parties have agreed not to disclose further details of the transaction.
BioEcho Life Sciences GmbH, founded in 2016 and headquartered in Cologne, develops and produces molecular biological and biochemical products and applications in the fields of diagnostics, human and veterinary medicine, and food analysis, among others. The company specialises in innovative DNA and RNA extraction technologies and has developed a highly efficient purification method for DNA and RNA extraction with its patented EchoLUTION technology.
Admera Health, based in South Plainfield, New Jersey (USA), is a leading provider of next-generation sequencing (NGS) services. With the acquisition of BioEcho, Admera Health is pursuing the goal of establishing itself in the European life science sector.
BioEcho will continue to operate under its own name and will focus on serving its non-North American customers. In North America, Admera Health will take over the role of BioEcho's subsidiary and offer EchoLUTION extraction both as a service and as a stand-alone product.
