The Bonn Local Court has opened the insolvency proceedings in self-administration of E.I.S. Aircraft Products and Services GmbH with effect from 01.01.2021, which were supported by GÖRG. This means that an essential basis has now been created for the restructuring of the company sought by the experienced GÖRG partner Dr. Jörg Bornheimer.
The aviation supplier is to be successfully restructured and positioned for the future with the help of a new injection of capital. "Since E.I.S. is a healthy company at its core, we are very optimistic for a successful restructuring," said Dr. Bornheimer. "We have already received interesting offers, which we are currently examining in the interest of the creditors and employees."
Business operations at the Euskirchen and Lemgo sites will be maintained in full. However, in order for a sustainable restructuring of the company to succeed, job cuts will be unavoidable, for which socially acceptable solutions are currently being sought together with the employee representatives.
Last year, E.I.S. Aircraft Products and Services GmbH had to file an application for the opening of insolvency proceedings in self-administration with the competent district court in Bonn due to imminent insolvency. The worldwide Corona pandemic and the resulting reduced air traffic volume led to a negative market situation and thus to considerable losses in turnover for the company. GÖRG restructuring expert Dr. Jörg Bornheimer was then appointed to the management board as a general representative to provide support. Lawyer Dirk Obermüller, partner of the Bonn law firm dhpg, was appointed as trustee.
