GÖRG, led by Munich partner Sebastian Frech, provided legal advice to ClimateTech company Reverion on its USD 62 million Series A financing round.
The oversubscribed financing round was led by Energy Impact Partners (EIP) with participation from Honda Motor and the European Innovation Council Fund (EIC Fund). Existing investors Extantia Capital, UVC Partners, Green Generation Fund, Doral Energy-Tech Ventures and Possible Ventures also participated in the round.
The company builds reversible, CO2-negative power plants using an innovative high-temperature fuel cell system, thereby realising carbon-negative and emission-reducing energy generation. Reverion intends to use the capital raised to establish series production of its power plants. The focus is on customers from the industrial and agricultural sectors.
Sebastian Frech commented: ”Reverion impressively demonstrates that German DeepTech start-ups with innovative cutting-edge technology at the centre of their business model have enormous potential to attract international investors.”
Reverion was comprehensively advised on the financing round by a GÖRG team led by Munich-based partner and venture capital expert Sebastian Frech. The advice focussed primarily on corporate law, but also included tax aspects in particular. Frech and his team have been advising the spin-off of the Technical University of Munich on financing rounds and operational issues since it was founded.
