GÖRG Partnerschaft von Rechtsanwälten mbB, led by partner Burkhard Fabritius, has successfully averted industrial action organised by the Verdi trade union at Falck Fire Services. Last week, the employees of the world's largest private fire protection company went on indefinite strike at the Airbus plant in Stade. GÖRG represented Falck before the Stade Labour Court and obtained a temporary peace obligation for the next six months.
Falck Fire Services has been offering the full range of fire services to public and private customers in Germany since 2013. The company's employees also provide fire protection at the Airbus aircraft manufacturer's plant in Stade, Lower Saxony. After several warning strikes last year, the Falck firefighters called an indefinite strike on 6 February 2024. In this case, Falck said it would no longer have been able to fulfil the fire safety requirements in the long term. Against this backdrop, the management of the fire protection service provider feared potential dangers for the residents of Stade. They also felt that the existence of the company was under threat.
The GÖRG advisors called in filed an application for a temporary injunction on Falck's behalf with the aim of banning the strike. After several hours of negotiations at the labour court in Stade, Verdi agreed to refrain from striking for six months. During this period, both parties want to meet for open-ended talks on labour conditions.
