GÖRG provided legal advice to the founders of TraderFox GmbH on the sale of their stake, alongside Axel Springer, to finanzen.net, one of Germany's leading financial portals. The shares in TraderFox and finanzen.net were acquired by Inflexion, together with the founders of finanzen.net, Peter Schille and Jens Ohr, as well as the founders of TraderFox, Simon Betschinger and Martin König. The transaction is still subject to merger control and investment clearance.
TraderFox is a provider of stock market software. Additionally, TraderFox publishes the Trader-Zeitung and the aktien Magazin. Founded in 2008 by Simon Betschinger and Martin König, TraderFox has had Axel Springer as a shareholder through finanzen.net since 2013.
finanzen.net was established in 2000 by Jens Ohr and Peter Schille under the umbrella of Smarthouse Media GmbH. In 2010, it was spun off into an independent company, finanzen.net GmbH, in which Axel Springer holds a majority stake alongside the founders. The finanzen.net group also includes the neo-broker finanzen.net ZERO as well as TraderFox.
Axel Springer is an international media and technology company headquartered in Berlin. Its renowned brands include BILD, WELT, Business Insider, and POLITICO, as well as leading classifieds platforms such as the Stepstone Group and the AVIV Group.
The buyer, Inflexion, is a European mid-market investor that collaborates with the management of high-growth companies to accelerate sustainable growth.
