Insolvency plan for the Spremberger Krankenhausgesellschaft accepted

Berlin, 23.02.2023

The Berlin GÖRG Partner Prof. Dr. Torsten Martini was appointed in September 2022 by the Cottbus Local Court as the provisional trustee for Spremberger Krankenhaus GmbH after the municipal hospital filed an application for the opening of insolvency proceedings. On 8 February 2023, the creditors' meeting has now voted on the hospital company's insolvency plan and unanimously approved it.

The hospital is in a position to maintain its medical services and adapt them to health policy conditions. Now an outpatient-inpatient health centre is to be built and the psychiatric department is to be expanded into a special clinic. In the meantime, the reconstruction will be made possible by financial support from the city of Spremberg.

GÖRG Partner and insolvency expert Prof. Dr. Torsten Martini, who accompanied the insolvency proceedings as trustee, summarises: "In such proceedings, the trustee has a control and monitoring function in particular, which is easier in some proceedings than in others. The proceedings at the Spremberg hospital were significantly characterised by efficient and close cooperation between all parties involved. The fact that this solution has now been found for the hospital is not only in the interest of the creditors, but above all in the interest of comprehensive health care in the entire region".
