At the JUVE Awards 2024 last night at the Alte Oper in Frankfurt, GÖRG was awarded as Law Firm of the Year for Insolvency and Restructuring in Germany.
The laudatory speech emphasised that the insolvency administration practice of GÖRG in Cologne, Hamburg, Bremen, Stuttgart and Berlin was regularly strengthened by experienced partners such as Prof Dr Torsten Martini. This strategy led to numerous appointments for significant insolvency proceedings and complements GÖRG's extensive expertise in the areas of real estate restructuring and distressed M&A. In addition, JUVE emphasised that, in addition to integrating laterals, GÖRG also places a high value on promoting its own young partners.
‘We are extremely proud and grateful for this award. For many years, our firm has been one of the leading addresses in the field of insolvency and restructuring, and the title “Law Firm of the Year” confirms our long-standing commitment to these core areas of our work. We have deliberately expanded our expertise in recent years, and this recognition encourages us to continue along this path consistently. We would like to express our particular thanks to the jury, to our clients for their trust and, of course, to our teams, whose outstanding work has now been duly recognised,’ said Dr Jens-Dietrich Mitzlaff, partner and member of the GÖRG Executive Committee.
Prof Dr Gerrit Hölzle, partner and head of the insolvency practice group at GÖRG, commented: ‘This award is an important recognition of our many years of work and expertise in the field of insolvency and restructuring. For many years, we have been handling complex mandates at the national and international level, and this award underscores the high quality of our services. It shows impressively that our teams continuously deliver first-class work.’
‘The “Law Firm of the Year” award confirms our long-established position as one of Germany's leading law firms for insolvency and restructuring, particularly in the area of debtor-in-possession proceedings. We are proud that our many years of experience and our commitment in these demanding areas are once again being recognised. This motivates us to continue to set the highest standards and develop innovative solutions for our clients,’ added Dr Christian Bärenz, partner and head of the restructuring practice group at GÖRG.
About the JUVE Awards
The JUVE Awards recognise law firms and legal teams that have attracted attention as particularly dynamic on the basis of their work and market position – both young, promising units and long-established players. The decisions on the nominations and winning teams are based on extensive research by the JUVE editorial team for the annual JUVE Handbook of Commercial Law Firms. Information from many thousands of discussions with clients, lawyers and judges is incorporated into the research.
