Profile

Kolja Stehl is an internationally versed expert in the area of German and EU financial regulations. He advises national and international clients – in particular banks, insurers, fund managers, clearing houses and trading platforms – in respect of their day-to-day business operations, as well as in the context of complex, cross-border transactions.

Kolja helps internationally active clients understand how Germany and the EU fit into the global regulatory architecture and where local regulations differ from those applicable in other financial centres.

Another focus of Kolja’s practice is counseling banks as well as their investors and counterparties in crisis situations. Since the financial crisis in 2008, Kolja has advised at the forefront of some of the most prominent restructurings of European banks.
