GÖRG advises NaGa Solar on the development of solar projects in Germany

Cologne, 03.02.2021

GÖRG Partnerschaft von Rechtsanwälten mbB advises a subsidiary of NaGa Solar Holding B.V., based in Maastricht (Netherlands), on the development of innovative solar projects in Germany since 2019. The development focuses in particular on large-scale ground-mounted solar plants, but also roof-mounted plants as well as floating PV plants. The marketing of the solar power generated from these projects is to be carried out mostly by way of long-term other direct marketing (Power Purchase Agreements).

In the future, these German projects will be integrated into a joint venture that NaGa Solar has established with AGP Sustainable Real Assets (a fund and asset group) and its global renewable energy platform, AMPYR Energy, as well as Hartree Partners LP, a merchant commodities firm specializing in energy and its associated industries. The joint venture, named AMPYR Solar Europe (ASE), combines NaGa Solar's in depth local knowledge and development prowess, AGP's experience in developing large-scale renewable power projects, and Hartree's cutting edge power trading analytics and zero carbon solutions. The joint venture aims to develop at least 4 GW of solar projects in the Netherlands, the UK and Germany.

The focus of the legal advice is the comprehensive legal support of the development of NaGa Solar's German solar projects (Dr. Ilka Mainz, Cologne, Dr. Liane Thau, Berlin), which goes hand in hand with corporate law (Dr. Ruth Büchl-Winter, Cologne) and regulatory aspects. In the future, the marketing of the electricity generated from German projects will also be contractually accompanied. The mandate is being handled across all GÖRG offices and is supported by other colleagues in the industry group energy.
