The Cologne energy team, led by partner Thoralf Herbold, along with Dr Ruth Büchl-Winter (Corporate) and Dr Ilka Mainz (Project Development), has comprehensively advised a fund managed by EB-Sustainable Investment Management GmbH (EB-SIM) on the acquisition of the Titz and Friedland solar projects.
Construction on the Friedland photovoltaic system in Lower Saxony commenced in November 2024 with the first groundbreaking on a 63-hectare site. Once completed, the solar park, with an installed capacity of approximately 80 MW, will provide climate-friendly electricity to around 24,000 households. Its commissioning is planned for September 2025.
The developer and seller of both photovoltaic systems is solar-konzept GmbH, headquartered in Hamburg, which will also manage all outstanding project development tasks until the projects are fully realised.
EB-SIM, the asset manager of the Evangelische Bank, operates with a clear mission: “Investments for a better world.” Through the acquisition of these two solar projects, a fund advised by EB-SIM is once again investing in sustainable energy generation, making a valuable contribution to CO2 reduction.
GÖRG provided EB-SIM with comprehensive legal advice throughout the transaction process. This included conducting due diligence, structuring, drafting, and negotiating the acquisition documentation and all necessary project agreements. Furthermore, GÖRG continues to support EB-SIM with the closing and execution of the transaction.
