GÖRG Partnerschaft von Rechtsanwälten mbB is providing comprehensive advice to MOVE ON Energy GmbH on the planning, development and realisation of the Witznitz energy park, the largest contiguous solar park in Europe with a nominal output of 650 megawatts.
Around 30 kilometres south of Leipzig, MOVE ON Energy, a project developer based in Neukieritzsch (Saxony), is developing the Witznitz Energy Park on the site of a former opencast lignite mine. 1.1 million solar modules with a nominal output of 650 megawatts will be installed on an area of around 500 hectares covering the municipalities of Neukieritzsch, Böhlen and Rötha on Lake Hain, which corresponds to the average consumption of around 200,000 four-person households per year. This makes the Witznitz energy park the largest contiguous non-state-subsidised solar park in the whole of Europe.
A GÖRG team led by Cologne partner Thoralf Herbold has been advising the project company MOVE ON Energy for years on all legal issues and contracts in connection with the planning, development, authorisation, construction and commissioning of the energy park. GÖRG's ser-vices include advice on securing the land, structuring, negotiating and finalising all project contracts, such as general contractor agreements for both the PV systems and the necessary infrastructure, module supply contracts, service and maintenance contracts, grid connection contracts (110kV and 380kV lines), contracts for implementing an infrastructure concept as well as on marketing the electricity and regulatory issues. GÖRG also advised MOVE ON En-ergy on the sale of the majority of the energy park to HANSAINVEST Real Assets, a subsidiary of the German insurance company SIGNAL IDUNA.
