Creditors' meeting approves sale of Hauptwache 1 in Frankfurt

Frankfurt a.M./Berlin, 25.06.2024

Frankfurter Sparkasse acquires property in the city centre in a bidding process

Frankfurter Sparkasse has acquired the Hauptwache 1 property in Frankfurt city centre and intends to build its new headquarters there. The creditors' meeting of the seller, which is part of the Signa Group, had previously approved the sale.

The company filed for insolvency at the Berlin Charlottenburg district court on 17 January of this year. Insolvency administrator Prof Dr Torsten Martini from the law firm GÖRG initiated a structured sales process at the beginning of March. Frankfurter Sparkasse has now prevailed over other bidders in the process. The parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price or any details.

"We succeeded in finalising the sales process for Hauptwache 1 in Frankfurt in just four months. Frankfurter Sparkasse submitted the best bid and also intends to move its head office into the new building. This should further revitalise the attractive area around the Hauptwache," explained Prof Dr Torsten Martini.

Insolvency administrator Prof Dr Torsten Martini is a specialist lawyer for insolvency and restructuring and a partner at the law firm GÖRG. He specialises in restructuring, reorganisation and insolvency administration and is regularly appointed as trustee and insolvency administrator by the district courts of Charlottenburg, Cottbus, Potsdam and Cologne, among others.
