GÖRG advises identity platform Verimi on joining Samsung

01.02.2019

[Frankfurt, ] GÖRG has advised the Verimi identity platform on Samsung's entry as a new shareholder.

Verimi is the new European identity and trust platform that provides users with a convenient and secure single sign-on, but also allows control over personal data. For this purpose, Verimi is developing a login button that users can use to identify themselves across different applications after registering once with Verimi or its network partners. Verimi's shareholders include numerous leading international companies (including Deutsche Bahn, Deutsche Telekom, Daimler, Volkswagen, Lufthansa, Deutsche Bank and the Axel Springer media group).

Dr. Markus Pertlwieser, Chairman of Verimi's shareholders' meeting, commented on the partnership with Samsung: "The recent data scandals underline the need for platforms like Verimi to help protect users and give them more control over their digital identity. As the world's largest manufacturer of electronic devices, Samsung's support is a key asset for Verimi and another relevant step towards greater data security for millions of Europeans."

Under the leadership of Dr. Matthias Menke (Frankfurt), GÖRG supported Verimi in all steps of the capital increase to take up Samsung, in particular in the conclusion of the accession agreement to the joint venture agreement. GÖRG had already advised Verimi's shareholders on various legal aspects when the company was founded and continues to advise the company in various areas of law (IT law, contract law, supervisory law, corporate law).
