GÖRG advises VEOLIA on acquisition of Hofmann Group

A GÖRG team led by Hamburg partners Dr. Frank Evers and Paul Caesar Rode has advised Veolia Umweltservice GmbH on the takeover of Hofmann Group. 

With this acquisition, which encompasses about 30 operative sites with over 1,000 employees as well as a many German and foreign subsidiaries, Veolia will expand its geographic reach throughout the German waste management market. It is Veolia’s biggest acquisition in the waste management market in Germany since the takeover of the SULO-Group in 2007, on which Dr. Frank Evers was also the leading legal counsel.

The transaction is subject to approval by the competent merger control authorities.

About Hofmann Group

Founded more than 80 years ago, the Hofmann Group is a medium-sized, owner-managed company which provides waste management services in the federal state of Bavaria. The group has around 30 locations with waste processing facilities for various material fractions and is active in all segments of waste management: take-back systems, municipal services, collection of hazardous waste as well as commercial and industrial waste. 
The family-owned business was – and will be until the closing of the transaction – managed in third generation by Mr Jürgen Hofmann and other members of the Hofmann family.
